How to convert a computer monitor to run on DC?

I am looking to build a portable PS2 and want it to run on batteries. I need to know how easy it would be to convert a monitor to run purely on batteries.

Easiest would be to get an inverter to power both. If you are going to run them for some time, you need significant battery.

That said, the computer monitor I havem uses a regulated 12V and 5V supply, likely 3 and 1.5A respectively. You would need a converter from your battery voltage to those.

IME, a 15″TV will have a 12V DC input. You could use a PS2Slim and such a TV with no inverter, but sill still need quite a bit of battery to power them for some time.

A computer monitor will likely be unusable, becasue you will need a TV to VGA converter box as well, and that is something else to draw down power.
