How do I get my computer to recognize my ipod as not a camera?

My computer keeps seeing my ipod as a camera instead of an actual ipod. I want to see the ipod so that I can get songs from my ipod to my new computer. My ipod is the only place where these songs exist, so I have to transfer them from the ipod to the computer.
I have an ipod touch.
